Where Are We Going To Live?!?!

Last weekend we took a short trip out to San Francisco to find a place to call home.  This was my first trip to California.  It is beautiful, but very different from my plush, green Georgia.

We left early Friday morning so that we could arrive in San Francisco mid-day. We landed, waited for an hour in the longest line to get our rental car, and then we were off to explore what will soon be our new home.  We drove from San Francisco into Pleasanton which is where Adam's new office is and where we will be living.
You have to have a selfie on the plane before take off :)
Friday night we enjoyed a fun dinner in downtown Pleasanton with one of Adam's co-workers and his wife.  They did the whole relocation from Atlanta to California about a year ago.  They were awesome, and really put our minds at ease about the move.

Saturday morning we were up early and determined to find a place to live.  We met with a realtor and she took us around and showed us different properties.  We knew that we wanted to live in Pleasanton/Dublin so she pulled houses, townhouses, and condos for lease in those areas for us to see.  I'm not going to lie, when we pulled up at the first house I almost started crying!  Neighborhoods in Pleasanton and neighborhoods in Woodstock are very different.  Here in Georgia we are use to our nice neighborhood, manicured lawns, and swim and tennis.  In California that just does not exist unless you are looking at million dollar homes.  The houses we saw were tiny, old, and in sketchy neighborhoods.  We both agreed that these were not places we could call home!

After seeing a few houses she took us to see a townhouse in a super cute complex that included townhouses and condos, with nice neighborhoods in the surrounding area.  All I could do was breathe a sigh of relief!!!  I looked at Adam and immediately said "I could live here".  The townhouse was 2 bedrooms, which was a little small for us.  We also looked at a 2 bedroom condo, which was also a little small.  The realtor dropped us back off at the hotel and said she would go back and see if she could find us a 3 bedroom condo or townhouse.  We were in luck...a 3 bedroom condo had just become available!!!  I looked at Adam and said "Get it!!! Sign the lease!!! Do whatever to get us in there and not in one of those scary houses!!!"  We called the realtor and started the application process.

Now with that taken care of we were able to relax a little and enjoy the rest of our trip.  Saturday afternoon before dinner we drove back over to where the condo is just to do a little exploring and see the area.  It is right on the edge of Dublin/Pleasanton, but technically in Dublin.  The condo is within walking distance to restaurants, a movie theater, and lots of stores.  We are about a mile from the BART (the train) which we can take all the way into downtown San Francisco.  We are about a 30 minute drive or an hour train ride from downtown.

More of the complex.

Park (there is a playground that you can't see) in the middle of the complex.
On Sunday we drove back into San Francisco to spend the night downtown and celebrate our anniversary.
Adam super excited to be driving into the city.  Panic attack here we come!

Me: Yea we are driving into the city!
Adam:  I hate driving in the city!
Diving over the bridge.
When we arrived downtown we walked around and did the whole tourist thing.  We went down to Fisherman's Wharf, walked around and did a little sight seeing.
Trolley Car

Me: Do we have time to do some shopping?
Adam: Ummmm No!

A little selfie with Alcatraz in the background.

This guy was cracking me up.  He would jump out and scare people.

Golden Gate Bridge

Seals, seals, and more seals.
We were able to catch a little of the America's Cup.

You can't see it to well but that is the Golden Gate Bridge in the background.
Sunday night we went down along the Embarcadero to have dinner at Hillstone.  It was yummy of course!  We had a great time.  It was such a wonderful way to celebrate our 5 year anniversary and a great way to end our trip.

We defiantly had a great trip.  A little stressful at moments, but it was a success.  While we had a great time and accomplished what we set out to accomplish we were really missing a certain little girl.  However, I do think she had fun while we were away!!!
Last day at school. Don't mind the mismatched outfit, we had a little accident.

Enjoying a little Waffle House with Mammy

Nothing like a little harmonica on a Friday night in Georgia

Enjoying the park with CC and Grandpa

Of course Mammy would let you stick your head out the sunroof!

Having fun on CC and Grandpa's new furniture.

What a wonderful way to be greeted at the airport!!
