Corrigans vs Muir Woods

Today we went on a little adventure to a great big place with some great big trees!!!  Muir Woods welcomed the Corrigan Clan with open branches.  We had to drive about an hour to get there, but it was well worth it.   We went pretty early as it tends to get crowded later in the day.   I am not sure who had more fun, me and Adam or Mattie.

The drive there was pretty awesome.  Adam and I were both laughing at the fact that we can't believe we live here.  It is so pretty and there is always a gorgeous view no matter where you go.

We're READY!!!

The Drive.  It's so crazy being so close to the water.  We love the bridges!

Making our way into the park.

These pictures could never do it justice.  The Redwoods are HUGE!  Such a cool thing to see.

Nice little family pic :)

"Look at me I'm in a tree"

This is so cool!!

I love this picture :)

Just taking it all in...

"Hey look I fit in this log"

I mean when you can stand inside a tree…that's a pretty big tree!

By this point she was so sick of me taking her picture.

The drive had some of the most amazing views!

We had such a blast today!  Our first real adventure here in California.  We can officially check this one off of our bucket list.   It is so amazing to have all these great things to do with Mattie only a car ride away.  I love that she is getting wonderful experiences even if she is still a wee little tot.  Today was awesome and we needed some fun family time, since next week we have to conquer the DMV and tag office!  NOT FUN, but we will be legit California residents! Ahhhhhhhhhh!

It's The Great Pumpkin...

We have had a pretty busy first week here in California.  Adam has been at work all week learning the ropes of a new job.  I'm sure he is already kicking butt and taking names, that's just what he does.  Mattie and I spent the week sifting through boxes and trying to get this place to feel a little more like home.  I will say, going from a house to a condo is not easy.  While we like it and it is nice we defiantly do not have as much space!  We have had to get a little creative.  Some of my summer clothes are in Mattie's dresser drawers, (she said she didn't mind, she would share :) one of Mattie's dressers is in her closet, and the spare bedroom closet is crammed full of storage tubs and anything else that I could fit in there.  All I can say is thank the Lord that we left some things at Adam's parents!  We probably should have left more!  The good thing about less space is it forces you to get rid of things that you do not use, wear, or did not even know you still had in your possession.  I will say that de-cluttering can be very therapeutic.

So, this is kind of where we started.  This was after I had unpacked some boxes and most of the kitchen .   It's like Where's Waldo...Where's Mattie???

This is the world's smallest closet.  Our house in GA had a huge master bedroom walk-in closet, so we were a little spoiled.  That huge pile on the floor is clothes, shoes, and purses.  I had to get this in order quickly so Adam could find all his work clothes.

This is all the clothes that were in the bottom of the closet.  We donated some, stored some in Mattie's room and in the process I discovered I have way to many scarfs. What can I say?!?!  I love them and I am sure I will buy more!!

This is how it ended.  The three hangers to the left are all scarfs!  Thank you Pinterest for the hanger/shower curtain hook idea.  I actually had a scarf hanger my sister bought me, but I guess I had to many scarfs on it, because it broke.  :(

Every time I think I have nothing to wear I am going to slap myself!!!
Our families have been asking for pictures of the condo so here they are...

Master Bedroom.  I really like the built-ins.  I think I am going to do pictures propped in each one.  I am going to repaint the monogram that we already had and put it above the bed.  Adam and I are both pretty neutral people but this room could really use some color!!!

We had to buy a new tv, our old one would not fit.  Oh and yes I LOVE Anthony Bourdain.  No Reservations, Parts Unknown, The Layover anything he does I will watch!

Master Bath

Kitchen.  I will say, there is pretty good cabinet space.

"Dining Area"

Living Room

Mattie's Room.  I must say I love the Pano option on the iPhone.

Patio.  Again love that pano!
So there you have it in a nutshell.  There is still decorating to be done and pictures to be hung.  The spare bedroom did not make it into the pictures due to the fact that it is currently the dumping ground for all miscellaneous crap.  I forgot Mattie's bathroom as well (it's kind of a mess too!)

On a high note our cars were delivered this week ahead of schedule!  Yay, no more rental.  We are now back to a two car family!!!

Even though we still have things to do in the condo we took several little "breaks" this week.  I felt bad for Mattie being cooped up in the house all day while I was trying to get things unpacked.  Lucky for us there is a cute little park across the street, and the courtyard (which makes for a great place to ride the tricycle).

We also made it out to dinner.  We found this little jem thanks to one of Adam's friends.  The perfect "hole-in-the-wall" hotdog place.  Adam and I are suckers for random food, and trying to find where the local's eat.  This place was awesome!!  I mean look at it...how could it not be awesome?!?!

We also received mail!  A book from CC, 2 cards from Mammy and this package full of goodies from YaYa.  (By the way Mom, Adam and I enjoyed all that candy.  We ate it before Mattie could get to it ;)  I know terrible parents. Right?!?!
We also took Mattie to the pumpkin patch on Saturday.  We had so much fun.  It was nice to just have some fun family time after several weeks of stress.

She was terrified, but kept wanting to do it again and again.

Great way to end our first week here in California.  Fun memories for us and our sweet Mattie Grace.

XOXO
