A Road Trip Corrigan Style

Hi All,

Call us crazy, but when we found out that we were moving back to Georgia we thought it would be a great idea to drive back.  I know, we are insane!!  The last couple of days were so busy and jam packed with things we had to do.  We said goodbye to the Urrea Family on Sunday, and the packers/movers came to pack and load our stuff on Monday. Yikes!!!

Tuesday:  Time to get in the car and start our adventure home.  Corrigans love a good road trip.  First stop Vegas!

Goodbye Sheldon Circle.  It was fun!

Music selection is super important on a road trip.
Day 1:  Let's get this party started!

I am going to miss seeing these turbines every where.
So long California
Soldier down!!!

Not a great picture but…Welcome to Nevada.

To bad I missed The Judds ;)

Caesar's Palace
A little trip down the strip

We really just breezed through Las Vegas.  What was totally crazy was that as we were walking around Tuesday night we saw Mattie's soccer coach.  It was hilarious, we were cracking up that of all the people in Vegas we would actually run into someone we know.  What are the odds?!?!

Wednesday: Leaving Vegas headed for Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon.  Hoover Dam was awesome. Who knew a dam could be such a fun thing to visit.  It was a really cool thing to get to see on our little trip home.  We decided to stop at the Hoover Dam because it is not really a place you plan a vacation to, but is really worth seeing.  What can I say about the Grand Canyon…it left me speechless.  It was without a doubt the most amazing part of our trip.

Day 2:  Everyone's still smiling!!

Hoover Dam was pretty cool.

Next stop for the Corrigan Family…Grand Canyon.

The Grand Canyon was absolutely amazing!  We would love to go back when we have more time to do some hiking and just spend a couple of days exploring.  As a parent I was super excited to give Mattie this experience.

After the Grand Canyon we decided to try to make it to Albuquerque, New Mexico, and let's just say that with Adam at the wheel that was not a problem.

Thursday:  Albuquerque to Little Rock (yep you read that right.)  Really the only thing to see on this day was Cadillac Ranch, in Texas.  It was cool, just a bunch of Cadillacs half buried in the ground and people have spray painted them.  What was not cool was that my husband decided that we were getting to Little Rock.  We arrived there at 2 a.m.  ;)

Day 3: We can do this!!
Cadillac Ranch

When traveling with Adam you need a blanket.  Negative 30 in the car, notice Mattie rocking her own blanket.

Friday:  This was the last leg of the trip!  Really after Texas there was not any sight seeing to do.  Friday was really about making miles and getting home.  At this point we were all sick of being in the car.

Day 4:  I feel this needs no caption.  A picture is worth a thousand words!
God Bless, finally a Dunkin Donuts coffee!!
Oh, yes!!!!  Georgia you have been on my mind!!!
Finally after another full day in the car we arrived at Adam's parents house!  I think we were all thankful to escape the car.

After 4 days and 2,693 miles we are home!!!!
Mattie calculates time in how many sleeps until something.  Super cute to see CC and Grampa doing the same :)

It feels great to be home.  We have been crazy busy since we crossed the Georgia state line.  We have started doing some updating to our house (more on that later), Mattie is now back in school ( at my old school, with awesome teachers and of course Ms. Lynn), and we are starting to settle back into our Georgia life.  I will say, that I miss that California sunshine since it has basically been raining since we arrived :)

Back to school in the first photo, and another generation learns to drive down Great Gran's driveway in the second photo.
Mattie's Halloween Parade at school
Trick or Treating with Keegan and Molly!
Decorating cupcakes with some pretty awesome people and princesses!

We had such a fun trip/adventure getting home.  There really is nothing better than walking through your own front door, especially if you have been gone for two years.  While we will miss San Francisco and our friends there, it sure is nice to be back home spending time with our family and friends!!  We love you all!!!

XOXO
