Fifteen Minute Detours and Food Trucks

Hi All,

I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Mother's Day weekend.  I sure did!  Last weekend Adam and I were feeling restless and we hit the road and took Mattie to Mount Tamalpais and Stinson Beach.  It was a beautiful day for a hike and a great day for a little lunch on the beach.  They are only about 20 or 30 minutes from each other so we decided we would do both.  

On the way we had a few little detours…both my fault.  I am normally awesome at directions, but not so much on this weekend adventure.  I was manning Google Maps on the iPhone and had us get off an exit to soon.  This lead to a fifteen minute detour through Berkeley.  It was nice.  I told Adam we should go back and check it out soon.  On the way to Stinson Beach I did it again, told Adam to go the wrong way and again we had another fifteen minute detour :)  Fun times!

Mattie is an awesome rock climber! She totally has no fear.  I was telling her to be careful as she was climbing.  She replied "Careful is my middle name!"  Really kid?!?!

We also had an awesome afternoon on the beach.  It was a little cool and windy, but still awesome.  

Always carrying her dress like a princess!  If you notice that she is always in a dress it is because she refuses to wear anything else!!!

This weekend, being that it was Mother's Day, this Momma got to pick the adventure.  I have been trying to hit up the food trucks, any food trucks since we got here.  My wish was finally granted this weekend.  We went to the Off The Grid Food Trucks in Alameda. So awesome!  Señor Sisig was there.  I had read about them and of course that is where I had to eat.  They are a Filipino Fusion Truck.  I had the California Sisig Burrito ( I know you are shocked that I had a burrito, but I can't get enough of them).  So ridiculously good.  Adam had a Philly Cheesesteak from a different truck ( he ate it before I could get a picture).  All I can say after finally getting to have my food truck experience is…I LOVE FOOD TRUCKS!!!!!

There were french fries in my burrito, and the pork in it was the best pork I have ever tasted! Amazing

The reason I get to celebrate Mother's Day!  How lucky am I?!?!

I had such a great Mother's Day weekend.  I have the best husband and daughter in the world, and I love them more than anything!  It just doesn't get any better than a weekend with my little family.  I hope y'all's was as great as mine!
