Midnight Plane To Georgia Part 1

Hi All!

Mattie and I took a surprise trip to Georgia and just came home on Tuesday.  We were so lucky that we were able to spend two and a half weeks with our family. Unfortunately, we had to leave Adam behind in San Francisco because he had to work.  This was the longest that Adam and I have spent apart since we were first dating and he interned in Chicago (that was a long summer :)  Mattie and I both missed him terribly but were so thrilled to spend time with our family.

The trip was a surprise for my family.  The only people who knew we were coming were Adam's family, my mom (because she was driving up from Florida), and my cousin/bestie Ashley (who had to be told so she wouldn't buy a plane ticket to California).  It was such a hard secret to keep, and I have to admit all the hard work was totally worth it!

We left on a 6:00 a.m. flight that we almost didn't get on to because Southwest had over sold the flight.  Thank goodness we scored the last two seats. 

Adam's mom picked us up at the airport and brought Keegan and Molly along for the ride.  I wish I had taken some airport pics of Keegan and Mattie because they were so stinking cute together.  Keegan took Mattie's hand so she wouldn't get separated from us and carried her backpack.  Soooo sweet!!!  I also wish I would have snagged a pic of the other surprise we got…Eddy, a friend of ours who happen to be in the airport at the same time; he knew we were coming in, spotted Cheryl and hung with her so he could greet us when we arrived!  We have the best family and friends!!!  

After our arrival we were able to visit for a little while at Adam's parents house while we were waiting for all the crazy surprising we were about to do.

I was super excited to surprise my sister.  I knew she would flip!  It took some serious planning and help from my mom, Ben (my sister's boyfriend) and Ashley.   Also, thanks to Ashley who videoed we were able to capture the moment :)

Mattie and I were also so excited to see Ashley and Cora Mae!  After surprising my sister we all went to eat and then home to rest and get ready for another big day of surprises!

Next we were off to see/surprise Great Gran.   She was so cute.  She was over at my Aunt Connie's with my mom and we walked in and she just said "oh, oh, oh, what are ya'll doing here?"  I laughed so much.  She also told me that we can't surprise her like that anymore, she thinks she is too old and might have a heart attack!  She cracks me up.

Adam's dad has been in Chicago working; we lucked up and he was able to come home for the weekend while we were in town.  Mattie had a blast picking him up at the airport. 

We both had fun spending time with CC, Grampa, Aunt Kelly, Keegan, and Molly.  Jungle Matt we miss you on this particular day ;)

The light was so good in the playroom that Kelly and I joked that we could sit in there all day and take pics, and also that any picture taken had to be taken in front of this window.

Of course, I begged my Aunt Connie or Meme as Mattie calls her to cook us some food.  We were able to spend a day at her house with the family, eating and talking.  The two things we do best!  Normally we would do this about once a week or at least every other week when we were home, so it is something I have really missed.

 Mattie and Cora had their first sleepover, which was totally awesome.  Watching these two together was so much fun.  Ashley, I think we are going to be having sleepovers for like the next 20 years, possibly longer :)
