Michelle Tanner aka Mattie's Birthday Celebration

Hi All,

I can't believe it is already almost February!!!  Another thing I can't believe is that our sweet, sweet Mattie is 4!!!!! Say what?!?!?  I just can't even believe how time is flying.  It seems like yesterday she was entering the world, and today she is saying "mom, how do you like my new look?" Wait, what?!? Oh yes, she totally said that to me when I finished blow drying her hair today.  I don't even know where she gets this stuff.

We are so blessed to get to be this kid's parents.  She totally rocks!  She really keeps us on our toes.  Some of the things she says makes me say to myself "are you 4 or 12?" She is so independent, and totally stubborn.  In the same breath, she is so sweet and kind to other people.  Her teacher tells us on a regular basis what a huge help she is to the other students in her class; how much they love her and she loves them.  On the way into class this morning I heard another boy in her class say "Mattie you're the best."  My heart totally melted right there on the sidewalk.

She is so lovey and cuddly, the best is when she crawls up next to us on the couch or in the bed just for a little snuggle.  I love it when I get an "I love you momma" out of nowhere.  The other day in the car, she ask me "why are you my mommy?"  I thought for a second and then told her "God chose me to be your mommy."  "He knew I'm the mommy you need and you're the daughter I need."  She responded with "I'm glad you're my mommy."  Heart melted AGAIN.  I could write a whole book on how awesome she is, but those of you who know her, already know that she has a high level of awesomeness.

Her teacher was so sweet, and sent me some pictures of her birthday fun at school.

My labor of love.  These homemade cupcakes consumed my life for several days!
Mattie received such sweet phone calls from family and friends and we also got to FaceTime with Miss Cora.  Mattie was showing Cora how she hits the balloon, and Cora was cracking up.  Love it!
I don't even know what I did to deserve to be her Momma.  She is the most amazing blessing!
You can't have a birthday without the red plate!

We decided to get Mattie tickets to Disney on Ice for her birthday.  However that isn't happening until the end of February.  We at least wanted to go on an adventure, since it will be almost a month before we get to enjoy Disney on Ice.  We love driving along the coast.  We hit Hwy 1 and headed south to Davenport Beach.  This town is literally so small that if you blink you will miss it, but we had read some things about a nice beach and a little hiking so we thought we would check it out.  First we made a stop at Golden Gate Bridge for a nice sunrise.

I'm currently obsessed with the time-lapse on my phone.

We had to drive through the city to get to Hwy 1, so we thought it would be a good time to check out The Painted Ladies and say hi to Danny, Joey, Uncle Jesse, Becky, DJ, Stephanie, and Michelle.  Its cool to see but not something you plan a whole trip down town for so it was a good time to do it :)

I see this and the whole Full House theme song plays in my head.
There were a few stops along the way.  Part of the fun of our adventures is stoping when ever we see something cool we want to check out.

Random beach we stopped at to stretch our legs.
oh, hey I'm just over here being 4.

These two always have so much fun together.

Adam and Mattie's "beach photo"  Mattie's face is priceless.

Davenport Beach
Hiking to the top of a cliff.
Finally made it!
Don't you love how Adam rolls his pants up!

I was almost a Dateline story trying to take this picture. I had to climb down these rocks to get to the bottom of this trench that opens up to the ocean.  Then all of a sudden waves got bigger and water came rushing in…needless to say I got a rush of adrenaline and got out of there quick.  No Dateline story here!!!  :)

From the top, this is where I should have stayed instead of being a dare devil! lol

They really do post these signs for a reason.

Pictures of baby toes in the sand are the best.

Random rocks and a rock beach where we stopped to have lunch on the way back home.

Another Corrigan masterpiece!
Another great adventure in the books with my two favorite people.  I still think it is ridiculous that we are celebrating Mattie's 4th Birthday.  If I had my way time would slow down and she would still be a little bitty baby!

XOXO
