The Californians

Hi All,

We are back on our schedule after my sister's visit.  Just regular everyday stuff around here like realizing your daughter is growing way to fast!!  We noticed recently that Mattie's tricycle is a bit small for her.  Last weekend we went and bought her a "big girl" bike.  It was a moment of "where is the time going?" as we realized that she did not need the smallest bike (12 inch wheels) but the next size up (16 inch wheels).  What?!?!  I was totally thinking Adam was way off when he said that the small one was too small.  We put her on the next size up and it was the perfect fit!  Wait!!!  Shouldn't she still be a little bitty baby crawling around, taking a bottle and letting me rock her to sleep?!?!  Apparently not.  She is a big kid!!!

She is never dramatic!

Mattie is continuing her gymnastics class.  She still loves it and now thinks that every curb is a balance beam!  I love to watch her class.  This momma is proud of everything that she is learning.

This weekend Adam wanted to go check out the Farmer's Market downtown at the Port.  So we got up early hopped on BART and made our way into the city.  It was pretty awesome!  Tons of fresh organic produce and meats, and most importantly some delicious food!!!  I highly recommend it.  We had such a nice time.

RoliRoti famous for their Porcetta Sandwiches

Famous Porcetta Sandwich. Yum!

Enjoying some yummy eats!

Inside the Ferry Building.  There were lots of shops and stores inside as well as the market outside.

Like I said, everything is a balance beam.

You can always count on dad to get in on the action.

Hey mom check out my belly shirt!

Adam and I feel like we are learning our way around downtown (which is fun) and have just started to feel like we don't look like total tourist!!  It is really cool to live so close to such a great city.  You all can just call us "The Californians".  :)

XOXO

Hey, Sister Sister!

Greetings everyone!  The Corrigans have been very busy this past week.  My sister Heather came to visit.  We had a blast!  We talk almost everyday on the phone and via FaceTime but it is still not the same as having her here.  I have missed her more than I can say!  We had late night talks, ate way to much food, and had tons of belly laughs.

This was her first time in San Francisco so we crammed a lot of sight seeing into one week.  Adam was super sweet and worked from home on Friday.  He kept Mattie with him so that we could go down town for the day.  We basically covered a lot of ground in one day!  We started our day with a tour of Alcatraz, which I was so stoked about.  It was awesome!

Nerding it up audio tour style!

Every picture I had of Alcatraz I wanted to be black and white.  I don't know why but I felt like it fit the "feel" of that place.  After Alcatraz we walked down the Embarcadero, had some chowder and then took a taxi to Chinatown.   Oh, and while we were walking to sit down and eat our chowder (outside) a bird swooped down and stole my bag of crackers!  I mean like came straight at me took a dive for the crackers and disappeared!  Yes, that totally happened!

Gate into Chinatown.

After our adventures in Chinatown we walked down Powell and caught a cable car back to the Embarcadero with a quick stop at Lombard Street.  We had a bite to eat and then made our way back to the Bart Station to head back home.  It was a day filled with lots of laughs and selfies:)

We also took Heather to Muir Woods, the Golden Gate Bridge and Sausalito.

We even found time for Heather to take some family photos of us.  Thanks sis!!

It was awesome to have my sister here.  I have missed her so much.  This is the first time in our lives that we have lived this far apart.  It was like having a little piece of home out here for a week.  Now we are gearing up for Adam's parents to come out in a couple of weeks.  It is so much fun having our families come out here and getting to show them all of the awesome sites of San Fran!

XOXO
