Is This Heaven? No It's Carmel!

I love all the places we have visited since we moved out to California.  It is such a wonderful experience for us and especially for Mattie to be able to have so much to do so close to home.  As a parent, it is so rewarding to see Mattie's face light up when we show her something new, or to watch how she bursts with energy in a new place with new experiences.

This past weekend we drove to Carmel.  What a beautiful town, and only about an hour and a half away.  Adam and I have decided when we hit it big and win the lotto we are moving to Carmel!  Absolutely gorgeous!!

The weather was perfect, it was sunny and warm.  Mattie loved it, we couldn't keep her out of the water (and the water was frigid)!

This is the house that Adam and I are buying with lotto winnings :)

I think this guy was just pondering the mysteries of life!

We also drove over to Monterey.  It was pretty there as well, but nothing compares to Carmel!

I mean of course we had to stop for ice cream!

Such a great little trip for us!  Carmel is our favorite town so far!  I was a little disappointed that we did not run into Clint Eastwood :) but we had so much fun with Mattie.  Such a great place for us to spend some fun family time together!

Half Moon Bay

Long time no blog!  The past couple of weekends it has been rainy here, which is a good thing since we are in a severe state of emergency drought.  Needless to say the rain has kept us in doors.  Since Adam was off for President's Day and the weather was nice we decided to take a little ride to Half Moon Bay.  It is about an hour away from us, and ended up being a cute little seaside town.

It was a nice day, sunny but windy and cold.  We took Mattie to the beach. She hasn't been to see the ocean since she was about a 1 1/2 years old.  As some of you might remember that trip was not as successful, due to the fact that she hated the sand.  Here is a little flashback of our first beach adventure.

Is that a happy face or what?!?!? This is literally what she did every time her feet touched the sand!
This beach adventure was a little more successful.  Since she liked it this time, and it was cold and windy.  I am hoping that when summer arrives we will be able to do some day trips to the beach and build some sand castles!!

After spending some time on the beach we went and had lunch at a cute little deli called the Garden Deli Cafe.  Really yummy sandwiches.  They make the bread in house so it is super fresh.  They have a little outdoor eating area with tables and even some entertainment.  They had a musician there covering some 90's songs.  I mean, who can say no to an awesome sandwich and good 90's music?!?!

We had such a nice time.  It is always fun to take little adventures to new places.  There is nothing better then getting out of your car and taking in that salty smell of the ocean!

Now the Corrigans are looking forward to some visitors!!  My sister will be here in two weeks and then Adam's parents will be here in April!!!!  Words could not express how excited we are to have family visiting!!!  Super excited!!!!!
