Happy Birthday Mattie! Lets Go To Sausalito!

It has been a fun week/weekend in the Corrigan house.  Our sweet Mattie Grace turned 3 years old!  It totally feels like I just had her, and now I turn around and she is 3!  Where did the time go?!?  She had gymnastics the morning of her birthday.  As I sat watching her participate in her class all by herself like a big girl, I had to fight back the tears.  Watching her give me the thumbs up when she would complete a task correctly was so awesome.   Adam and I have truly been blessed with a beautiful, healthy, strong, smart, and independent little girl.  Words could never describe the joy she has brought to our lives over the past 3 years.

Birthday Girl!

Doing her gymnastics class all on her own!
Mattie and I spent her birthday having fun.  We went to a movie and then when Adam came home we did cake and presents.  Since we were not doing a party this year we decided to take Mattie and do something fun on Saturday.  We took her to the Bay Discovery Museum in Sausalito.  It was really cool and she had so much fun.  They had different areas with different activities set up and they had a huge outdoor play area.  It was really cool because it was right at the Golden Gate Bridge.  After our morning of fun we drove over to the down town Sausalito and had lunch at the Napa Valley Burger Company.  I highly recommend it.  So delicious.

Such a great weekend celebrating our sweet girl's birthday in beautiful Sausalito!

They Call It Mount Diablo Because It Gives You A Devil Of A Good Time

Today was such a fun day.  This is suppose to be our rainy season, but the rain is no where to be found.  Only warm weather and blue skies.

With such nice weather we decided to go to Mount Diablo.  It is about 20 minutes from where we live.  There are hiking trails, huge rock formations and you can drive or hike to the top for some amazing views.

She has no fear.  She was climbing all over the place.

Elephant Rock

Top of Elephant Rock.  Mattie loved climbing up, and I was sweating bullets!

Oh, you know…just walking with my hands in my pocket.  Oh and my pockets are full of rocks that I picked up along the way.

She loved climbing in all the holes in the rocks.

Yes, there is totally a kid up there.  There were like 12 year olds climbing all over the place.  Those rocks are super high.  I was nervous nancy!

Mattie thinks this is her mountain.  She calls it Mattie's Mountain.

Looking out over the rocks.

Yep, that's me and Mattie up there!

Finally made it to the top!

So pretty!

The highest point of Mount Diablo!
We had such a great day today.  It was awesome to watch Mattie climbing around saying "I can do it by myself"  She is so independent.  I love to watch her being such a strong little girl, determined to do it on her own.  Proud mommy moment even though Adam and I were secretly behind her ready to catch her if she fell.  Stressful being a parent…wanting them to be brave and do it on their own but worried that they will fall.

Awesome day, great memories made! :)
